Skoda Rapid Monte Carlo Edition
Skoda has finally pulled the plugs off the decade-old Rapid sedan in India as the automaker is gearing up to launch the Slavia mid-size sedan next month. However, its limited-run Matte Edition is still available for sale at a starting price of Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will also be discontinued once its all designated units for the Indian market (400 units) are sold out.
Since Skoda dealerships will be in a hurry to sell the remaining stock, buyers can get huge discounts on the sedan.

The Rapid was launched in November 2011 and received minor updates and new powertrains throughout its journey. However, it didn’t receive any generational update.
It was a well-rounded sedan in its segment that packed a host of premium features such as automatic projector headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto climate control, rear AC vents, cruise control, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a height-adjustable driver seat, four airbags, electronic stability control, hill hold control, and much more.
The BS4 105PS 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines of the Rapid were quite popular among the buyers. However, they were replaced with the BS6 110PS 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine in 2020.
Now, Skoda will soon bring an all-new mid-size sedan to our shores, called the Slavia, which will fill up the space of the Rapid. It will be based on the same MQB-A0-IN platform as the Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun. Not only the base, but it will also share the powertrain and features with its SUV siblings.
