The Iconic Kinetic Luna Is Back On Sale But In Electric Avatar

A few weeks after commencing bookings, Kinetic Green has finally launched the iconic Luna in an all-electric avatar dubbed as “E-Luna”. The company has priced it at Rs 69,990 (introductory, ex-showroom).

Kinetic E-Luna – Design and Features

Based on a tubular frame, the all-new Kinetic E-Luna maintains a simple and practical design reminiscent of the original Luna. However, it skips the signature pedal. Upfront, it sports a round halogen headlight sheltered inside a square nacelle, complemented by bulb-type indicators. It also gets a small blacked-out flyscreen for added appeal. Besides, there’s also a leg guard for added protection.

The electric moped gets a flat split seat setup, with the rear seat can be removed for additional storage space. It concentrates on the high load-carrying capacity of up to 150kg to cater to the B-to-B segment, offering it as a viable choice for last-mile connectivity. Furthermore, its lightweight design (weighs just 96kg) and seat height of 760mm make it a very easy and friendly machine to ride and navigate within urban jungles.

Speaking of the underpinnings, the e-bike gets a telescopic fork and twin shock absorbers. It rides on 16-inch spoked wheels, with drum brakes taking care of anchoring duties at both ends, assisted by Combi Braking System (CBS). The other notable features of the E-Luna include a digital instrument cluster with a real-time “Distance to Empty” range indicator, a side stand sensor, a saree guard, a USB charging port, a bag hook, and three riding modes.

What Powers The Kinetic e-Luna?

Powering the Kinetic E-Luna is a 2.2 kW BLDC mid-mount motor taking its juice from an IP67-rated 2 kWh battery pack, claimed to deliver a range of 110km. It takes around 4 hrs to get fully charged and has a top speed of 50 km/h.

Kinetic has also announced that it will soon also be offered with 1.7 kWh and 3 kWh battery pack options, with up to 150km of riding range.
