Tata Tiago NRG Likely To Make A Comeback On August 04

Tata Motors has announced to launch a new product on 4th August 2021. While the homegrown maker hasn't revealed any details about the upcoming car, it will belong to the brand's 'New Forever' range. Tata has also stated that the upcoming product will be a tough and sporty avatar of something, which is seriously fun. The term 'seriously fun' is associated with the Tiago hatchback and the characterization of the upcoming product suggests that the brand could reintroduce the Tiago NRG, which was discontinued last year ahead of the launch of facelifted Tata Tiago.

For those who aren't aware, the Tata Tiago NRG is essentially a rugged-looking version of the standard Tiago that comes with SUV-esque styling elements.

2021 Tata Tiago NRG Facelift – What to expect?

Changes on the new Tiago NRG could be in line with the facelifted Tiago. Having said that, it is likely to feature a revised front grille as well as a new bumper, restyled headlamps & taillamps, and alloy wheels. However, it will continue to get higher ground clearance, all-around body cladding, and a black applique on the tailgate.

Inside the cabin, it could get a flat-bottom multi-function steering wheel, semi-digital instrument gauges, push-button start/stop, new upholstery with a tri-arrow design pattern, and an updated 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Apple and Apple CarPlay. Besides, it will retain all the features of standard Tiago that mainly includes automatic climate control, an 8-speaker sound system (4-speakers + 4-tweeters), multiple driving modes (Eco & City), height-adjustable driver's seat, electrically adjustable ORVMs with auto-fold function, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, rear parking sensors with camera.

Beneath the hood, the facelifted Tata Tiago NRG will get the same 1.2-liter Revotron petrol engine as the standard model that puts out 86PS and 113Nm. Transmission options should comprise a 5-speed manual and AMT.

Considering all the changes, the facelifted Tiago NRG is likely to command a premium of around Rs 30,000 over the standard Tiago, which is priced between Rs 4.99 lakh and Rs 6.95 lakh ex-showroom. Once launched, it will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Celerio X, which is also due for a generational change.
