Tata Punch's Interior Revealed Officially

Tata Motors has once again released a new teaser video of the upcoming Punch micro-SUV, this time revealing the interior and key features of the car. It is slated to launch in the first half of October 2021.

Tata has opted for a dual-tone black & white interior theme for the new Punch SUV instead of the HBX concept's all-black scheme. It houses a 7-inch freestanding touchscreen infotainment system, taking the center of the dash with the central AC vents positioned just below it. There’s also a semi-digital instrument cluster and a 3-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel similar to the Tata Altroz hatchback. While it misses out on the small compass seen on its concept version, it continues to get a color-coded accent around the air-con vents. And interestingly, there would be more color options on offer, based on the SUV’s exterior paint choices.

On to the features, the infotainment system is likely to get Apple Carplay and Android Auto smartphone integration support along with iRA connected car technology. Besides, it will also get fabric upholstery, day/night IRVM, automatic AC, steering mounted controls, cruise control, keyless entry with push-button start, power-adjustable ORVMs, and multiple driving & terrain response modes. Safety will be covered by up to dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, corner stability control, rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.

Underneath the bonnet, the Tata Punch is likely to be provided with 1.2-litre naturally aspirated and turbocharged petrol engine options, paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT. There won’t be a diesel engine option.

The Punch is expected to retail from around Rs 6 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it against the Mahindra KUV100 NXT and Maruti Suzuki Ignis.
