Tata Nexon Gets New Variants; Production Marked 3 Lakh Units Milestone

Highlights: –

  • Tata expands the variant lineup of Nexon SUV with four new trims: XZ+ (P), XZA+ (P), XZ+ (HS), XZA+ (HS).
  • Gets new Royale Blue exterior shade.
  • Additional features include new leather seats, air purifier, ventilated front seats, and electrochromic IRVM.

Tata Motors has rolled out 3,00,000th unit of the Nexon from its Ranjangaon facility in Pune. The brand has achieved this feat in around four and half years since it first went on sale in 2017. Interestingly, the brand recorded the last one lakh units of the Nexon in less than 8 months. 

To mark this special occasion, Tata has also launched four new variants of the sub-4m SUV, along with a new Royale Blue paint option. Here’s a look at their prices: –

Tata Nexon SUV – New Variants

Positioned on top in the existing variant lineup of the Nexon compact SUV, all these trims gain an air purifier. In addition, the XZ+ and XZA+ variants also receive features such as Premium Benecke Kaliko leatherette upholstery, ventilated front seats, and an auto-dimming IRVM (inside rearview mirror).

These features are also available with their respective Dark versions and the recently introduced Nexon Kaziranga Edition (except for the Benecke Kaliko leather seats).

The other notable features of the Nexon include automatic projector headlamps, 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, rain-sensing wipers, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, digital instrument cluster, auto AC with rear AC vents, cruise control, multiple driving modes (Eco/City/Sport), dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability program (ESP), traction control, hill hold assist, and ISOFIX child seat anchorages, etc.

Engine and Gearbox

The carmaker hasn’t made any mechanical changes to the car. It will continue to be equipped with 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol (120PS/170Nm) and 1.5-litre turbocharged diesel (110PS/260Nm). Both can be paired with a standard 6-speed MT or an optional 6-speed AMT.
