Design-wise, the turbocharged Altroz looks similar to the existing model of Altroz, apart from an 'iTURBO' badging at the lower side of the tailgate. The latest spy shots also reveal the new harbor blue color option which resembles Nexon's tectonic blue paint scheme. This shade may be limited to the iTurbo variants only.

It is important to note that the images are from Tata's manufacturing plant, which indicates that the series production of the Altroz iTurbo has already been started.

The interior of the car is not visible in the above images, but we know that the 2021 Altroz will sport a new black & light grey dual-tone cabin theme along with some new features, which mainly includes leatherette upholstery, connected car technology, doodle personalized wallpaper setting for the infotainment system, Express Cool function for the climate control, additional two tweeters, and auto-up power windows. Further, it will also get two new drive-modes: Sport & City, particularly for the turbocharged model.

Talking about the engine specifications, the Altroz iTurbo will be powered by a 1.2-liter, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that will produce a maximum power output of 110PS at 5500rpm, and a peak torque of 140Nm at 1500-5500rpm. This engine is borrowed from the Nexon SUV; however, it churns 10PS/30Nm less than its subcompact SUV sibling. Compared to the Altroz's existing 1.2-liter naturally aspirated (NA) petrol engine, it is 28% more powerful and 24% torquier. It can sprint from standstill to 100kmph in 13 seconds. In the initial stage, Tata could offer the Altroz iTurbo with a 5-speed manual gearbox only. The 7-speed DCT automatic option likely to be introduced later.

With the launch of the iTurbo model, Tata is expected to update Altroz's variant line-up and could introduce a new XZ+ trim. In terms of pricing, except Altroz iTurbo to carry a premium of around Rs 1 lakh over the current NA manual variants, which are priced between Rs 5.44 lakh to Rs 9.10 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). In the premium hatchback segment, it will go up against the Hyundai i20 Turbo and Volkswagen Polo TSI
