Tata Motors has confirmed the launch of the Altroz automatic on Twitter. Replying to a tweet, Tata Motors said the automatic variant of Altroz will be available in the near future and they will announce its availability at an appropriate time. Recently, it was also spied testing

If reports are to be believed, the Altroz Automatic will get a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) with its 1.2-liter turbocharged petrol engine, which produces 110PS and 140Nm. It has yet to be seen whether its 86PS 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 90PS 1.5-litre diesel engines also get the DCT or any other automatic unit.

We reckon the Altroz DCT will carry a premium of up to Rs 1 lakh over its manual counterparts that range from Rs 8.07 lakh to Rs 9.42 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Once launched, it will strengthen its positioning against the Hyundai i20, Volkswagen Polo, Honda Jazz, and the upcoming Maruti Baleno facelift
