Skoda Kushaq SUV Is Now Dearer By Rs 30,000

Czech automaker Skoda forayed into the hotly contested mid-size SUV segment with the Kushaq in June 2021. It received an impressive response from the Indian audience and racked up over 15,000 bookings in just 4 months of its arrival. The Kushaq is a feature-loaded SUV that was priced between Rs 10.49 lakh to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom). But now, its entry-level Active trim gets a significant price hike of Rs 30,000. However, the prices of the rest of the variants remain unchanged. With this, the Skoda Kushaq is now priced from Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).

As the above table indicates, the Skoda Kushaq's Active base variant only comes with a 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder, TSI turbocharged petrol engine (115PS/178Nm), paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. On the other hand, some of the other variants also get the 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TSI turbocharged petrol engine (150PS/250Nm) option with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch automatic). 

In terms of features, the Kushaq Active trim is a well-equipped trim with notable features like a 16-inch steel wheel with wheel covers, LED DRLs, dual-tone cabin, fabric upholstery, 2-spoke steering, height-adjustable headrests (front & rear), tilt-&-telescopic adjustment for the steering wheel, front center armrest with storage, manual AC with rear AC vents, all-power windows, keyless entry, ORVMs with anti-glare function, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 6-speakers, steering mounted telephony & audio controls, etc.

Passenger's safety is covered by dual-front airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), Multi Collision Braking (MCB), Electronic Differential Locking System (EDS), Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR) with Motor Slip Regulation (MSR), Roll-Over Protection (ROP), brake disc wiping, three-point seat belts for all (except for the middle passenger), ISOFIX child seat mounts, child door locks, immobilizer, rear parking sensors. In other news, Skoda Auto is all set to introduce its next highly localized offering, the Slavia mid-size sedan, tomorrow. Besides, the brand has also recently revealed its plans to launch a new sub-4 metre SUV and electric vehicles including the all-electric Enyaq iV in India. The carmaker is yet to share a launch timeline for these products.
