Skoda Kushaq Matte Edition Launched At Rs 16.19 Lakh

Skoda Auto has launched the Kushaq Matte Edition, with prices starting from Rs 16.19 lakh (ex-showroom). It has been positioned between the Style and Monte Carlo Edition in Kushaq’s variant lineup. It is available with both 1-litre and 1.5-litre petrol engine options.

Skoda Kushaq Matte Edition – What’s Special?

As mentioned above, the Kushaq Matte Edition commands a premium of Rs 40,000 over the Style variant. For these extra bucks, it gets the following additions over the Style trim: –

  • New matte-finished Carbon Steel grey exterior paint scheme
  • Blacked-out finish on side mirrors, door handles, and spoiler.
  • 10-inch touchscreen infotainment (instead of an 8-inch unit)
  • Wireless integration support for Apple Carplay and Android Auto

Skoda has stated that only 500 units of this Matte Edition will be sold in India.

Powertrain

  • Skoda hasn’t made any changes under the hood. It will be offered with both the 1-litre, 3-cylinder, TSI turbocharged petrol (115PS/178Nm) and 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, TSI turbocharged petrol with Active Cylinder Technology (150PS/250Nm).
  • Both engines get a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard.
  • For automatic, the smaller 1-litre mill gets a 6-speed torque converter, while the 1.5-litre motor comes with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.

Competition

In the mid-size SUV segment, the Skoda Kushaq goes up against the Hyundai Creta, Volkswagen Taigun, MG Astor, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder and the upcoming Honda Elevate and Kia Seltos Facelift.
