7 Features That Tata Safari Offers Over The Mahindra XUV700

The Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700 are the most popular three-row mid-size SUVs in the Indian market. Both SUVs are known for their intuitive design, premium interiors, robust safety and a plethora of advanced features. Recently, Tata has given a facelift update to the Safari, providing it with a refreshed appeal, improved safety and a host of new features, making it a more appealing option, at least on paper.

Here’s a look at the top seven features that are missing in the Mahindra XUV700 when compared to the new Tata Safari 2023: –

1. Ventilated Front & Rear Seats

Both the Tata Safari and Mahindra XUV700 come equipped with dual-zone climate control systems. However, the Safari also features front-ventilated seats, which is a boon, particularly during hot summer days. Additionally, customers opting for its 6-seater version will also enjoy this feature on the rear captain seats.

2. Powered Co-Passenger Seat

While a powered driver’s seat with memory functions is common between the two SUVs, the 2023 Tata Safari goes a step further, offering the benefit of a 4-way powered front passenger seat for added convenience.

3. Caption Seat Options For 2nd Row

Unlike the XUV700, which comes in 5-and 7-seater layouts, the Tata Safari offers 6 and 7-seater configuration options. In the 6-seater version, the Safari features two captain seats in the middle row, whereas the XUV700 only offers a bench seat irrespective of the seating configuration.

4. Gesture Controlled Powered Tailgate

To make the cargo space easily accessible, the 2023 Tata Safari gets an electric tailgate release with a gesture control function. It is essentially a hands-free way to open/close the tailgate with just a wave of your foot under the rear bumper. Customers can also trigger the tailgate operation with simply a button tap.

5. Paddle Shifters

Tata Motors offers the Safari’s automatic version with the convenience of paddle shifters to make the driving experience more engaging and playful.

6. Auto-Dimming IRVM

Unlike the XUV700’s conventional manually-operated day/night IRVM, the Tata Safari features an electrochromic IRVM (auto-dimming IRVM) that automatically reduces the glare from the headlights of vehicles behind you, making nighttime driving more comfortable and safer.

7. Electric Adjustable Boss Mode

Both the Tata Safari and XUV700 have a unique “Boss Mode” feature that allows the rear left passenger to adjust the front co-passenger seat for extra legroom on the go. However, there’s a delightful distinction between the two. In the XUV700, you must engage this feature by manually adjusting the seat using an integrated lever. On the other hand, the Safari gets Electric Boss Mode, meaning you will be gracefully granted extra legroom merely on a button tap.
