Royal Enfiled Himalayan To Get A More Powerful 450CC Version

  • The new Royal Enfield Himalaya 450cc will be positioned above its existing model.
  • Launch expected in early 2023.
  • Likely to be based on a new trellis frame, linked to a USD fork and a rear monoshock.

There is nothing new in the fact that Royal Enfield is working on multiple new motorcycles, including Hunter 350, new-gen Bullet, and 650cc cruiser. And now, we got to know about the brand’s plan to offer a more powerful version of the Himalayan, which might be cherished as Himalayan 450LC. It is likely to be launched in early 2023.

Revealed by the spy images, the new 450cc adventure motorcycle looks like a premium version of the current-gen Royal Enfield Himalayan that is likely to be based on a new trellis frame. Although the testing mule was heavily camouflaged, we can sense its more rugged-looking bodyworks with notable elements including raised front fender, round headlight, clear windshield glass, redesigned fuel tank with sturdy tank braces, split seats, inverted front fork, a rear monoshock, and a circular cluster that looks somewhat similar to the Scram 411.

While its engine specifications are yet to be revealed, it is likely to be powered by a new 450cc liquid-cooled engine that should deliver better output than the Himalayan’s 411cc mill (24.3PS/32Nm). We reckon it will also get a new 6-speed transmission, switchable ABS & traction control system.

All-in-all, the upcoming 450cc Royal Enfield Himalayan is likely to command a premium of around Rs 50,000 over its younger sibling, which currently retails from Rs 2.14 lakh to Rs 2.22 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will rub its shoulders against the KTM 390 ADV, BMW G 310 GS, and the upcoming Hero 450cc Adventure.
