Renault Triber Feature List Revised; Several Features Removed

In a surprising move, Renault India has revised the features list of its highly popular Triber MPV that includes the removal of several features and some minor additions across the variant line-up. While the brand hasn't revealed any reasons for these changes, it could be a part of the cost-control method as production input rates are on the rise.

  • Standard changes across the lineup: – Some of the changes that apply to all variants are the removal of the Energy badge from the tailgate and the side body sill will now be offered in body colour instead of the black finish.

  • Renault Triber RXE: – Besides the above-mentioned revisions, the base-spec RXE variant of the Triber remains unchanged.

  • Renault Triber RXL: – The second-to-the-base Triber RXE variant is the most affected among all. Features like chrome inserts on the grille, side body decals, second & third-row AC vents, central console cooled box, chrome surround for the instrument cluster, and plastic seat rail covers have been skipped now. Moreover, the ORVMs and outside door handles are now finished in matte black, instead of body colour. The glossy black detailing on the dashboard also gets matte black treatment. In lieu of these features, the brand has added roof rails (with a load-carrying capacity of 50kg), a satin finish for the side AC vents, and power windows for the second row.

  • Renault Triber RXT: – Talking about the mid-spec RXT trim, it has now done away with blacked-out B-pillars, chrome around the instrument cluster, cooled glove box, eco scoring on the infotainment system, and driver-side seatback pocket. Also, its body-coloured ORVMs will now come finished in Mystery Black shade.

  • Renault Triber RXZ: – The RXZ trim also marks the deletion of black finishing for the B-pillars and the Eco scoring mode on the infotainment system. But what is more crucial is the replacement of the fabric lining for the door armrest with plastic trim. However, it gets Mystery black finished ORVMs and a new design for the gear knob, which is now spread in black with a chrome surround instead of the earlier silver-top treatment.

  • Powertrain: – No changes have been made on the mechanical front. The Renault Triber will continue to be available with a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine (72PS/96Nm) that comes paired with either a 5-speed manual transmission or an AMT unit.

  • Prices: – As of now, Renault hasn't revised the prices of Triber sub-4-meter MPV. It will continue to be available between Rs 5.5 lakh and Rs 7.95 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). At this price point, it can be seen as a 7-seater alternative to Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
