Launched in August 2019, the sub-4m Triber MPV has aroused as a game-changer model for the French brand in the Indian market thanks to its affordable price range, well-packed cabin, and of course its enormous cabin space. Recently, the brand has announced that it has crossed 75,000 unit sales in the country, which is a huge milestone. It is one of the highest contributors to cumulative sales of Renault India.
Talking about its India journey, Renault sold 33,860 units of Triber in the first eight months of its launch (August 2019-March 2020). And in the next financial year (FY21), the Triber has achieved 40,956 unit sales. The remaining 184 units have been achieved in the current month. With this, Renault's market share in the utility vehicle segment has been increased by upto 4.79% in FY21.
About Renault Triber
The Renault Triber is a 7-seater cross-MPV that is available in four variants- RXE, RXL, RXT, and RXZ. It is priced between Rs 5.30 lakh and Rs 7.82 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). That said, it's not only affordable but also a well-packed machine with notable features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple Carplay & Android Auto, LED instrument cluster, height-adjustable driver's seat, steering mounted controls, electric ORVMs, twin-glovebox, cooling box, climate control with rear AC vents, modular seats, etc. Safety, on the other hand, is taken care of by upto four airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with a camera. Recently, the brand has also introduced dual-tone color options with the Triber.
Powering this French MPV is a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine that generates 72PS and 94Nm, mated with either a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT (Automated Manual Transmission). In the sub-4m MPV segment, the Renault Triber only faces direct competition with the Datsun GO Plus. However, it can also be seen as a 7-seater alternative to the Maruti Swift facelift, Ford Figo, and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
