Following the rollout of the BS6 Phase-2 emission norms (RDE norms), Renault has discontinued the 800cc version of its entry-level cross-hatch, Kwid. It will now be sold only with the 1,000cc engine.
The Renault Kwid 0.8L (800cc) iteration was available in RXL and RXL (O) trims.
Paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox, this engine was rated at 54PS and 76Nm.
The Kwid is now solely available with a 1-litre petrol engine that puts out 68PS and 91Nm. It can be had with a 5-speed manual gearbox or an AMT unit.
Aside from phasing out the 0.8L variants, the Renault Kwid remains unchanged.
The Kwid will continue to be offered in five variants, RXE, RXL, RXL (O), RXT and Climber, ranging from Rs 4.70 lakh to Rs 6.33 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
In terms of features, the Kwid comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a digitised driver’s display, all-four powered windows, a rear armrest, powered ORVMs, a keyless entry and 14-inch black wheels.
The safety kit includes dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, an electronic stability program (ESP), hill start assist, traction control, rear parking sensors with a camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Renault offers the Kwid in six single-tones and two dual-tone shades: Ice Cool White, Metal Mustard, Fiery Red, Outback Bronze, Moonlight Silver, Zanskar Blue, Ice Cool White with Black roof and Metal Mustard with Black roof.
In the entry-level hatchback segment, the Renault Kwid takes on the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Alto K10 and S-Presso.
