Upcoming Honda City crash-tested by NCAP

India is about to get next-generation Honda's iconic Sedan City.  Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the launch and Media test drive of the upcoming Honda city has been postponed. But there is a news about the City from ASEAN NCAP.

ASEAN NCAP is an independent agency that tests cars for its safety. It is different than GNCAP which usually tests Indian cars, but more rigid than GNCAP as well. The Upcoming Sedan, Honda City was recently tested by ASEAN NCAP and got a 5-star rating. The city that was tested is actually from the Thailand market and will not be exactly the same as the Indian one, but as we have seen with Honda that they keep Indian City on the same platform as global so we expect the Indian version of the City sedan to be as rigid as Thai-spec.

ASEAN NCAP gave City a full 5 star for Adult protection and 44.72 out of 49 for child safety, both the parameters which are very crucial in GLOBAL NCAP test as well.

Here, have a look at its crash results:

There is no denying the fact that Global models are usually more loaded when we compare them to their Indian specs, but it seems like apart from Blind Spot detection we might get all the features in India as well.

New 2020 Honda City, new gen honda city 2020

Honda City will hit the Indian market in July 2020. The pre-bookings will commence soon. It will rival Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, Hyundai Verna, Skoda Rapid, VW Vento, Toyota Yaris, etc. None of these cars has been tested yet in Global NCAP under the #SaferCarsForIndia campaign.

We will do our impressions and review of All-New 2020 Honda City as soon as we get hands-on the car.
