Ola S1 Air Purchase Window To Open From July 28

  • Ola Electric is all set to launch its most affordable electric scooter, the S1 Air, on July 28, 2023, at an introductory price of Rs 1,09,999 (ex-showroom, including FAME II subsidy).
  • Bookings for the e-scooter are already underway.
  • The price mentioned above is only for the launch of the S1 Air and will be applicable from July 28 to July 30 for existing Ola customers and those who have already reserved their units. Rest can purchase the Ola S1 Air online at Rs 1,19,999 (ex-showroom, including FAME II subsidy) from July 31.
  • Deliveries of the scooter will start in early August 2023.

Ola S1 Air – Battery and Range

  • Being the entry-level model in the Ola S1 range, the S1 Air will come with a 3kWh battery pack that claims an IDC range of up to 125 km on a single charge. It will be mated to a 4.5 kW electric motor that offers a top speed of 85 kmph.
  • Initially, there were plans to offer it with 2 KWh and 4 kWh battery pack options as well. However, these plans were dropped later.

Design and Underpinning Changes

Ola S1 pro vs S1 vs S1 Air
  • Unlike the S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters which get a single-arm shock up front and lateral monoshock at the rear, the new S1 Air features conventional telescopic suspension at the front and dual-shock absorbers at the rear.
  • For anchoring duties, the S1 Air gets drum brakes instead of a disc brake setup seen on its elder siblings.
  • Design-wise, it looks identical to the S1 and S1 Pro save for some minor changes in the form of a flat floorboard, tubular metal grabrail, and black panels on the lower half. For reference, the S1 and S1 Pro get banana-shaped floorboards, full body-coloured panels and split-cast aluminium grab handles.

Features

Ola scooter mobile app

This entry-level Ola e-scooter gets all the necessities, such as an all-LED lighting system, a 7-inch colour touchscreen TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, an onboard music system, a dedicated mobile companion app, Over-The-Air (OTA) updates support, three riding modes (ECO, NORMAL, SPORT), reverse assist, and side-stand alert etc.

Competitors

In the electric scooter segment, the Ola S1 Pro will face competition from the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and the Okinawa Okhi90.
