Ola Electric Scooter To Be Launched On This Independence Day

Ola Electric's CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has announced that the company is planning a launch event for the Ola electric scooter on the eve of India's Independence Day- 15th August.

Bookings for the Ola Electric Scooter are already underway for a fully refundable amount of Rs 499. And interestingly, the scooter achieved over 1 lakh bookings milestone within the first 24 hours of opening the pre-launch reservations. This makes it the ‘most pre-booked scooter’ in the world. It is also important to note that the brand is unlikely to take the traditional dealer route for its products, and the Ola scooters will be delivered to buyers’ homes across India. Along with this, facilities like booking, documentation, and loan application will also be arranged online.

As per the recent trademark filing, the upcoming Ola scooter is expected to be called 'Series S' and could be offered in two variants: – S1 and S1 Pro. It will be available in 10 colors, including red, pink, yellow, black, white, light blue, dark blue, silver, with some of them available in matte and glossy shades.

The Ola Scooter is expected to offer a range of 150 kilometers on a single charge. It is claimed to offer the largest boot space in its category, a digital instrument cluster with cloud-based connectivity, mobile app-based keyless access, class-leading acceleration, and several segment-first traits, including fast-charging support that will re-energize the battery from 0-50% in just 18 minutes.

The company has previously stated that the model would be priced aggressively to make it widely accessible. However, we anticipate its price to be around Rs 80,000 to Rs 1 lakh. Once launched, it will lock horns with the TVS iQube, Baja Chetak, Okinawa iPraise+Ather 450X, and the upcoming Simple Energy One
