Nissan Magnite SUV Updated With More Safety Features

Japanese automaker Nissan has updated the Magnite for 2023. The sub-4m SUV now gets Electronic Stability Control (ESC), hill hold assists, hydraulic brake assist, vehicle dynamic assist, and a tyre pressure monitoring system as standard fitment across the lineup. Besides, features like a 360-degree surround-view system, ISOFIX child seat anchors and reverse parking camera will continue to be restricted to the higher-spec variants of the SUV.

Beneath the bonnet, the Nissan Magnite continue to get 72PS 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 100PS 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engines, both now comply with upcoming Bharat Stage-6 Phase II emission norms. The transmission includes a 5-speed manual unit as standard and an optional CVT automatic with the turbocharged engine.

With all these changes, Nissan is expected to increase the prices of the Magnite by a slight margin. However, the updated price list is yet to be revealed. Currently, it ranges from Rs 5.97 – 10.79 lakh (ex-showroom), and goes up against the likes of Renault Kiger, Maruti Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV300 and Kia Sonet.

In other news, Nissan is gearing up to launch three new products for the Indian market, including a Renault Triber-based 7-seater multipurpose vehicle (MPV). The brand will also introduce a compact EV and a Maruti Grand Vitara-rivalling hybrid mid-size SUV. Click here for more details.
