MG Majestor Productions Commenced In India; Launch Soon

JSW MG Motor has commenced series production of the Majestor SUV at its Halol plant in Gujarat. Bookings of the flagship SUV are already underway for Rs 41,000, while its prices are likely to be announced in the coming weeks.

MG Majestor SUV: Everything At A Glance

  • Engine: Powering the Majestor is a 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine (215PS/478.5Nm), paired with an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It comes in both rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and 4-wheel-drive (4WD) setups.
  • Off-road Credentials: In addition to the 4WD system, the Majestor also has a high ground clearance of roughly 219mm, along with three locking differentials and multiple driving modes: Snow, Rock, Sand, Mud and Normal.
  • Dimensions: Length 5046mm | width 2016mm | height 1876mm | wheelbase 2950mm | wheel size 19-inches.
  • Seating configurations: The Majestor is offered in both 6- and 7-seat layouts.
  • Frame type: ladder-frame.
  • Variants: The Majestor will be available in two variants — Sharp and Savvy, with the latter being 4WD only.

We expect the Majestor to be priced from around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against the Toyota Fortuner Legender and Volkswagen Tayron R-Line.
