MG Majestor Launched With Prices Starting From Rs 40.99 Lakh

The much-awaited MG Majestor SUV has finally been launched in India, priced at Rs 40.99 lakh for the top-spec Savvy 4×2 and Rs 44.99 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom) for the Savvy 4×4 trim. At this price point, it is more affordable than the Toyota Fortuner Legender (Rs 48.29 lakh), GR-S (Rs 50.46 lakh), Volkswagen Tayron R-Line (Rs 46.99 lakh), and top-spec Skoda Kodiaq L&K (Rs 46.99 lakh).

MG Majestor: Powertrain Details and Off-road Traits

MG offers the Majestor with a 2-litre, twin-turbo diesel engine, specifications of which are mentioned below: –

Aside from the RWD and 4WD drivetrains, the Majestor also gets 10 off-road modes, an 810mm water-wading depth, and triple differential locks. 

Dimensions

  • Speaking of the dimensions, the Majestor is 5046mm long, 1876mm tall and 2016mm wide, with a wheelbase of 2950mm. This makes it 251mm longer than the Toyota Fortuner.
  • It has a boot space of 343 litres with the 3rd-row in use, which can be further increased to 1,350 litres with the 3rd row seats folded down.

Exterior Design

  • Based on the same ladder-frame as the Gloster, the MG Majestor is essentially a rebadged version of the Maxus D90 sold internationally.
  • Compared to the Gloster, it has a more rugged and imposing road presence.
  • Upfront, it features a massive gloss-black grille in a rectangular shape, flanked by sleek eyebrow-shaped LED DRLs, with the main projector headlamps sitting below in a three-pod enclosure.
  • Riding on 19-inch dual-tone alloys, the SUV boasts black cladding all over for a rugged appearance.
  • At the rear, it features connected LED tail lamps, a chunky bumper with dual-exhaust tips and prominent “MORRIS GARAGES” and “MAJESTOR” lettering rounding off its tough and imposing look.

The MG Majestor is available in four colour options: –

  • Black Ash

Inside, the MG Majestor gets a clean all-black dashboard with boxy design elements in black and grey, lending it a modern, premium appeal. A 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system takes centre stage, with central AC vents placed just below it. Notably, MG has also retained physical controls for the air conditioning, enhancing overall convenience.

MG has offered it in both 6- and 7-seater layouts, with the former featuring captain seats in the middle row.
