Mercedes Benz recalls S-Class and GLC
Mercedes-Benz India has recalled four units of the S-Class sedans and GLC SUVs over a faulty emergency call system. All these affected units were built from 30th September 2016 to 24th July 2020.
According to the fault description provided on SIAM’s website, the behavior of the emergency call system was not up to the specifications. Mercedes has found that in case of an accident, the electrical voltage system of the S-Class or GLC causes a temporary drop. Thus, there may be delays in the arrival of rescue vehicles, which could potentially increase the consequences of the accident.
This has affected several models globally. However, the other functions of the automatic or manual emergency call system are not influenced by this issue.
