Mercedes Benz A-Class Limousine – The Newest Entry-Level Sedan Launched In India

Mercedes-Benz India has finally launched its most affordable sedan, the A-Class Limousine, at a starting price of Rs 39.90 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The German brand has offered this entry-level Mec in three variants and with three engine options. Here’s the detailed pricing: –

Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine – Powertrain

The Mercedes Benz A-Class Limousine can be had with either a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT) or a 2.0-litre diesel engine, mated to an 8-speed DCT. The petrol unit produces 163PS of maximum grunt and 250Nm of torque, whereas the diesel engine delivers 150PS and 320Nm.

There is also a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine option limited to the performance biased AMG A35 trim that pushes out 306PS of max power and a whopping 400Nm of peak torque. This spicier motor comes with a 7-speed DCT which transmits the power to all four wheels. It can sprint from 0-100kmph in 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 250kmph. Also, it has the lowest drag coefficient (0.22cd) in the world today.

Mercedes-Benz A-Class Limousine – Features

Despite being an entry-level sedan, the A-Class Limousine ​​​​​​is well equipped with features such as LED headlamps and taillamps, dual 10.25-inch screens comprising of an MBUX infotainment system and digital driver’s display, connected car technology, Mercedes Me voice commands, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, wireless charging, 64-colour ambient lighting, dual-zone climate control, powered front seats, a panoramic sunroof, etc. Safety is covered by 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), traction control, active brake assist, and a rear parking camera. It offers a boot space of 405 litres.

Warranty

Mercedes-Benz is also offering a huge eight-year warranty with the A-Class Limousine. There is also a 2-year service package for the sedan, priced at Rs 61,200 for the petrol and Rs 73,200 for the diesel trim. 

Competitors

In the luxury sedan segment, the Mercedes A-Class Limousine locks horn with BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe (Rs 37.90-42.30 lakh) and the upcoming Audi A3.
