The highly-anticipated Maruti Suzuki Fronx has finally been revealed at the Auto Expo 2023. Based on the Baleno, it’s a micro-SUV that will be sold through Nexa dealerships and will be positioned between Baleno and Brezza in the brand’s current product portfolio. Expect its prices to be revealed by the first quarter of 2023.
Underpinned on the same Heatect platform as the Baleno, the Fronx measures 3995mm in length, 1765mm in width, and 1550mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2520mm. Inside the boot, it offers 308-litres of area for your luggage and other essentials.

Design-wise, the Maruti Suzuki Fronx borrows its design inspiration from the Grand Vitara, featuring a hexagonal mesh-pattern grille, upright bonnet, and LED split headlamp setup.
From the sides, it looks beefed-up version of the Baleno with sloping rooflines and squared-wheel arches. The tailgate is upright and features sharp cuts & creases. There’s also the connected LED taillamp and muscular bumper with faux skid plates.
The interior of the Maruti Fronx has a lot of resemblance with the Baleno, featuring a layered dashboard with a floating touchscreen infotainment system taking centre stage. The other notable elements and features of the crossover include: –
Powering the Maruti Fronx is the 1.0-litre turbocharged BoosterJet petrol engine that makes out 100PS and 147.6Nm, and comes paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. A 1.2-litre DualJet petrol engine (90PS/113Nm) is also on the cards, with 5-speed manual and AMT choices. The brand could also offer a CNG powertrain option sometime in the future.
