Beneath the hood, the Rumion employs the same 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine as the Ertiga that comes with a mild-hybrid system, comprising regenerative braking & torque assist function. Mated to either a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission, this engine produces a maximum grunt of 105PS and 138Nm of peak torque. It is claimed to return a fuel efficiency of 19.01kmpl with manual and 17.99kmpl with an automatic gearbox.

Expect Toyota to introduce the Rumion in India after the launch of the Ciaz-based upcoming sedan that will be known as 'Toyota Belta'.
