Maruti Suzuki has enhanced the safety quotient of its Alto K10 and S-Presso by offering Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard fitment across their variant lineup. What’s even more interesting is that the brand hasn’t increased their prices for this safety upgrade. With this update, all Maruti Suzuki cars, except the Eeco, now come with ESP as standard.
Apart from the ESP, both the Alto K10 and S-Presso continue to retain safety features like dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, high-speed warning system, seatbelt reminder and rear parking sensors.

Electronic Stability Control (ESC) is a safety feature that improves a vehicle’s stability by noticing and reducing the risk of skidding or losing control, especially during sharp turns or sudden manoeuvres. Integrated with ABS and traction control, it works by using various sensors to monitor the vehicle’s movement, such as wheel speed and steering angle. If the system detects that the car is veering off the intended path, it intervenes by selectively applying brakes to individual wheels or reducing engine power to help the driver regain control.

Both the Maruti Alto K10 and S-Presso are powered by the same 67PS/89Nm 1-litre, 3-cylinder petrol engine that can be had with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 5-speed AMT unit. Their manual version is also being offered with a factory-fitted CNG kit, which makes a slightly lower output of 57PS and 82Nm.
Maruti Suzuki retails the Alto K10 from Rs 3.99 lakh to Rs 5.96 lakh (ex-showroom), while the S-Presso costs between Rs 4.27 lakh and Rs 6.12 lakh (ex-showroom).
