Mahindra XUV700 Waiting Period Stretching Up To 2 Years With Over 80,000 Orders Are Pending

Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that the waiting period for the XUV700 is stretching from 18 months to 2 years, depending on the variant and location. The SUV maker has also stated that they are receiving more than 9,500 bookings per month for the XUV700 and currently, there are over 80,000 orders awaiting delivery. On average, Mahindra is dispatching 3,500-4,000 units of the SUV per month. It has also taken the necessary steps to boost its production.

A senior authority at Mahindra has also revealed that AX variants have received around 95 percent of the total bookings, with the range-topping AX7 L trim alone recorded 65 percent reservations. Interestingly, despite such a huge waiting period, booking revocations for the Mahindra XUV700 have not exceeded 12 percent since it went on sale in October 2021.

The drastic waiting period on the XUV700 is mainly due to its aggressive pricing, features loaded cabin, and needless to say, the ongoing global semiconductor shortage. And interestingly, the features-loaded AX7 L trim comes with over 200 such tiny electronic chips. That said, the three row-SUV comes loaded with features such as a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto, Alexa voice command compatibility, wireless smartphone charger, a Sony premium sound system, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, powered driver’s seat with memory function, multiple driving modes, electronic parking brakes, traction control, seven airbags, Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and a 360-degree camera.

Under the hood, the XUV700 gets either a 200PS/380Nm 2-litre turbo-petrol or a 185PS/450Nm 2.2-litre diesel engine. Both come with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The range-topping AX7 trim also gets an optional all-wheel drivetrain (AWD).

Mahindra currently retails the XUV700 between Rs 13.18 – 24.58 lakh (ex-showroom), pitting it against the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, and Tata Safari.
