Mahindra XUV700 Clocked 65,000 Bookings; Deliveries To Start On October 30

Mahindra's latest entrant into the Indian market, the XUV700 has received an overwhelming response from buyers. It has clocked over 65,000 bookings in just two weeks since the start of its booking on October 7. In fact, the first 50,000 units were sold within two days (over a course of three hours) of its booking commencement. Now, customers who have been waiting for the deliveries of the mid-sized SUV, we finally have a delivery timeline. The automaker has announced that the deliveries of the petrol-powered variants of the Mahindra XUV700 will start from 30th October 2021, followed by the diesel variants from the last week of November.

For those who aren't aware, Mahindra has provided the XUV700 in five variants: MX, AX3, AX5, AX7, and AX7, across two seating options: 5-seat and 7-seat. Features onboard the SUV include an LED illumination system, two 10.25-inch connected screens for the infotainment and digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology with Alexa-AI assistant, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charger, segment's largest panoramic sunroof, powered driver's seat with memory function, flush-fitting door handles, up to 7-airbags, ABS with EBD, front & rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, and multiple driving modes (diesel only), Sony surround sound system, etc. 

The SUV also gets Level-2 ADAS autonomous driving features like traffic sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, pilot assist, forward collision warning, high beam assist, automatic emergency braking, and lane-keeping assist.

Beneath the bonnet, the XUV700 comes with two engine options – 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While the former generates 200PS/380Nm, the latter is available in two states of tune: 155PS & 360Nm for MX trim, and 185PS & up to 450Nm (420Nm with MT) for AX variants. The range-topping diesel-AT variant also gets an optional all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. 

Currently, the Mahindra XUV700 is priced from Rs 12.49 lakh to Rs 22.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). At these prices, it rivals the Tata Harrier/Safari, MG Hector/Hector Plus. Hyundai Creta/Alcazar, Kia Seltos, Nissan Kicks, Skoda Kushaq, Volkswagen Taigun and Renault Duster.
