Mahindra Recalled 600 Diesel Cars Over An Engine Issue

Mahindra & Mahindra has recalled around 600 diesel cars, which have been reportedly affected by premature wear issues caused by contaminated fuel. While the brand hasn't specified the individual model names, all these recalled units were manufactured at Mahindra's Nashik plant between June 21 and July 2, 2021.

Mahindra currently manufactures second-generation Thar, Scorpio, Marrazzo, and XUV300 at the Nashik-based facility.

It has been reported that Mahindra has received contaminated diesel fuel during the above period and used it in select batches of vehicles which may lead to premature wear & tear of the engine.

The company will individually contact the buyers of the affected units to rectify the problem. All these suspected vehicles will undergo a proactive inspection of the engine and other related parts. And if found necessary, the rectification or part replacement will be carried out free of cost.

In the other news, Mahindra has recently launched a premium alternative to the rugged Bolero called "Bolero Neo". It is essentially a facelift version of the now-discontinued TUV300 SUV. Besides, Mahindra is all set to launch the successor model of its highly popular XUV500 three-row SUV in a new and more premium avatar dubbed as "XUV700".
