Mahindra Dealerships Started Accepting Bookings For New Scorpio

Waiting for the new-gen Mahindra Scorpio? Well, you can now pre-book the upgraded SUV unofficially at select Mahindra dealerships ahead of its expected unveiling in June 2022.

While Mahindra’s automotive division is yet to share anything concrete about the new Scorpio, its exterior design has already been revealed through various official teasers and leaked images. Though it features a completely new design, it maintains the essence of what makes Scorpio so popular. It will be bigger than the ongoing model and is expected to be available in both 6-and 7-seat configurations, with the former featuring two captain seats in the middle row. Also, the side-facing jump seats in the 3rd row will be replaced by two front-facing bench seats.

Features onboard will include dual-barrel LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps with C-shaped DRLs, vertically stacked LED tail lamps, dual-tone alloy wheels, all-wheel disc brakes, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, dual-tone leatherette upholstery, a single-pane electric sunroof, roof-mounted speakers, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone charger, drive modes, cruise control, multiple airbags, electronic stability control, and probably a 360-degree camera. Powering the SUV will be the choice of 2.2-liter diesel and 2.0-liter turbo-petrol engines, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. While the rugged SUV is likely to get a rear-wheel-drivetrain (RWD) as standard, a 4WD system is expected to be offered in select petrol and diesel variants.

Since the new-gen Scorpio is likely to be underpinned on the same ladder-frame platform as the second-gen Mahindra Thar, it will continue to enjoy its exclusivity in the D-segment.
