Mahindra Auto Registers 19% Sales Growth in April 2025, Sells Over 84,000 Units

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), one of India’s leading automotive manufacturers, recorded total vehicle sales of 84,170 units in April 2025, registering a robust 19% year-on-year growth, including exports.

The surge was largely driven by the company’s performance in the Utility Vehicle (UV) segment, where 52,330 SUVs were sold in the domestic market — marking an impressive 28% growth over April 2024. Including exports, Mahindra sold a total of 54,860 SUVs last month.

Mahindra’s Commercial Vehicles division also saw steady traction, with total domestic sales reaching 22,989 units. In the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) category (2T–3.5T), sales grew by 9%, while the heavier LCV and Medium/Heavy Commercial Vehicle (MHCV) segment rose by 10%. However, the LCVs under 2T declined by 21%, and three-wheeler sales remained flat with a 1% dip.

On the exports front, Mahindra reported a significant 82% surge, exporting 3,381 vehicles in April 2025 compared to 1,857 units in the same month last year.

Commenting on the performance, Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., said, “Building on the momentum from last year, we’ve kicked off FY26 on a high note. With SUV sales crossing 52,000 units and overall volumes up 19%, these figures highlight the strength of our portfolio and the continued trust from our customers.”

The utility vehicle numbers also include sales from Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., while the commercial and three-wheeler segments include figures from Mahindra Last Mile Mobility Ltd.
