Kia Seltos X-Line Unveiled, Prices To Be Announced In September

Kia India has finally unveiled the new Seltos X-Line Edition for the Indian market. Based on the GTX Plus variant, the X-Line is essentially a more rugged version of the standard Seltos. Prices of this new model will be announced in September 2021.

Kia Seltos X-Line Edition – What's Special?

To make the Seltos X-Line stand out from the other variants, the brand has dressed up the SUV in an exclusive Matte Graphite body shade with orange and gloss black treatment around the body for added stealthiness. Further, it also gets an upsized 18-inch alloy wheels (+1 inch than GTX Plus) with a slight touch of Matte Grey to complement the overall styling of the SUV. Unlike the Seltos X-Line concept, showcased at the 2020 Auto expo, it misses out on those aggressively styled rugged front and rear bumpers, which, if given, would certainly have added to the overall styling of the SUV.

Inside, except for the Indigo Pera leatherette seats with honeycomb pattern & grey stitching, and matching door panel trim, the cabin remains identical to the regular GTX Plus variant. That said, it gets all the features of the regular model that primarily includes a 10.25-inch infotainment system, Apple Carplay, and Android Auto, UVO connected car technology with remote functionality and smartwatch connectivity, a single-pane sunroof, an 8-speaker Bose sound system, powered driver's seat, a 7-inch multi-information display, wireless charging, in-built air purifier, auto climate control, rear AC vents, ventilated front seats, a heads-up display (HUD), cruise control, smart key remote-engine start, paddle shifters, etc.

Safety is covered by six airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, tire pressure monitoring system, blind-spot monitoring, vehicle stability management (VSM), electronic stability control (ESC), hill assist control (HAC), and parking sensors with 360-degree surround-view camera.

Kia Seltos X-Line Edition – Powertrain

The Seltos X-Line will be offered with two engine choices: 1.4-liter turbocharged petrol (140PS/242Nm), paired with a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch automatic) and 1.5-liter diesel (115PS/250Nm), mated to a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Unlike the standard Kia Seltos, the X-Line omits the 1.5-liter petrol and manual transmission options.

Kia Seltos X-Line Edition – Expected Price

The Seltos X-Line is likely to carry a premium of around Rs 35,000 over its corresponding GTX Line variants, which are priced between Rs 15.53 lakh and Rs 17.65 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
