Kia Seltos Updated With New Variants, More Features and Colour Revision

Korean carmaker Kia, which made its fortress in India with the help of Seltos, has updated the SUV once again. For 2022, the Kia Seltos has received new variants, more features, and an updated colour palette.

2022 Kia Seltos – What’s New?

  • New Variants: Kia has introduced Seltos’ diesel-powered mid-spec HTK+ variant with 6-speed iMT (clutchless manual) transmission. Besides, the 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission will now also be available with the HTX diesel trim. Earlier, it was restricted to the SUV’s top-of-the-line GTX+ and X-Line diesel variants.
  • Cosmetic Changes: The MY22 Kia Seltos receives some minor visual changes in the form of a new ‘ornament type’ wheel covers for lower spec variants, red colour finishing for SOS button (mounted on IRVM), an ‘X-Line’ embossing on the headrests (limited to X-Line trim), and the new ‘Connect’ name for the Kia UVO button.

  • New Colour Options: Kia India has replaced Seltos’ Intelligency Blue and Steel Silver monotone paint options with a new Imperial Blue and Sparkling Silver body shades. On the other hand, a refreshed Granite Grey with black roof has taken place of three dual-tone ivories: Steel Silver with Orange roof, Punch Orange with White roof, and Glacier White Pearl with Orange roof.

  • New Features and Upgraded Safety: Improving the safety quotient of the SUV, Kia has made four airbags, rear disc brakes, tyre pressure monitoring system, electronic stability control (ESC), vehicle stability management (VSM), hill-assist control (HAC), and brake assist (BA) standard across its variant lineup. In addition, the HTX+ and GTX (O) trims will now come with a total of six airbags. Earlier, the side and curtain airbags were limited on the top-spec GTX+ and X-Line variants. Furthermore, the paddle shifters and traction/drive modes can now be had on the HTX CVT and AT variants as well.
  • Updated Suspension: The Korean carmaker has also retuned its suspension setup for better ride quality and driving dynamics.
  • Revised Prices: With all these changes, the Kia Seltos is now priced between Rs 10.19 lakh to Rs 18.45 lakh against the previous price range of Rs 9.95 lakh to Rs 18.19 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). It continuous to go up against the Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kuhsaq, Volkswagen Taigun, Nissan Kicks, and Maruti Suzuki S-Cross. Soon Creta will also receive a new Knight Edition with tons of cosmetic changes.
