Kia EV6 vs. BMW i4: Specification Comparison
  • The Kia EV6, in its sole GT line trim, comes with RWD and AWD drivetrain options, while the BMW i4 comes with a single 250kW synchronous e-motor.
  • The BMW i4 eDrive40 outclasses the Kia EV6’s RWD trim by a significant margin in both speed and torque. The EV6 AWD, however, even with its dual motors, outputs less power than the single 250 kW motor of the i4 but thankfully offers significantly greater torque meaning much quicker accelerations.
  • BMW i4, with its slightly larger 80.7kWh battery pack, takes the lead again with a WLTP claimed range of 590km, the highest for any EV in the country till now. The EV6, although not as high, still claims a WLTP range of 500+ km with its 77kWh battery pack.
  • Both cars support fast charging, but the EV6 with its 350kW DC fast charging ups the ante against the 205 kW DC charging of the BMW i4.

BMW i4 vs Kia EV6: Features Comparison
  • Both cars offer a rich driver seat experience with a massive curved cockpit style dual-driver display. However, the i4 takes the cake with its new iDrive8 system and bigger screens providing more comprehensive information, but the Kia’s UI is much more beginner friendly.
  • The BMW i4, with its price tag, might be good in comparison to other BMWs, but it falls short on critical features like ventilated seats, ADAS, a heads-up display, and a 360-degree parking camera, something which are very much offered on the EV6 despite it being cheaper by Rs 5 Lakhs in its top-spec trim.
  • Kia EV6 gets active safety with ADAS features like lane mitigation warning, adaptive cruise control, lane watch assist, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, etc.
  • The BMW i4 gets air suspension for the rear for an enhanced riding experience.
