Its Official! Skoda Kodiaq Facelift To Launch On January 10

Highlights: – 

  • Facelifted Skoda Kodiaq to go on sale on January 10.
  • Likely to be offered in three variants: Style, Sportline, and Laurin & Klement (L&K).
  • Design updates will include a new grille, dual-tone alloy wheels, a revised lighting system, and redesigned bumpers at both ends.
  • Notable features will include 8-inch infotainment with wireless Smartlink connectivity, panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, updated 12-speaker Canton audio, powered front seat with memory & ventilation function.
  • Under the hood, a 190PS 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine will be offered, paired with a 7-speed DSG and AWD.
  • Unofficial bookings are already underway. 

Skoda Auto India has revealed that the facelifted Kodiaq will be it's first of the 6 products planned for 2022. The prices of the SUV will be out on January 10. While the carmaker will soon start pre-launch bookings, select dealerships have already commenced unofficial reservations for a token amount of up to Rs 50,000. It will be brought to our shore via the CKD route. 

Earlier revealed by a leaked RTO document, Skoda will offer the Kodiaq in three variants: Style, Sportline, and L&K. Its prices are likely to start from Rs 36.50 lakh (ex-showroom). Powering the SUV will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that is proficient in churning out 190PS and 320Nm. Transmission duties will be taken care of by a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT), mated to an all-wheel-drivetrain (AWD).

Design-wise, the facelift update will bring a host of new styling elements, including a revised hexagonal chrome-finished grille, new crystalline LED headlamps, refreshed bumper with lip spoiler, new dual-tone alloy wheels, and updated LED taillamps. Inside, the SUV will receive a new two-spoke steering wheel, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.25-inch customizable digital driver's display, 12-speaker Canton sound system with subwoofer, 12-way power-adjustable front seats with 3 memory options, panoramic sunroof, three-zone climate control, cooled/heated ventilated front seats, and much more. 

Passenger's safety will be ensured by 9-airbags, ABS with EBD, adaptive lighting system, electronic stability control, brake assist, multi-collision braking, anti-slip regulation, electronic mechanical differential, and much more. 

Once launched, the 2022 Skoda Kodiaq will go up against the petrol variants of the Toyota Fortuner and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace.
