Hyundai Creta Becomes India’s Best-Selling SUV In H1 2025

Hyundai has announced a major sales milestone: the Creta has emerged as India’s best-selling SUV in the first half (H1) of 2025, topping monthly sales charts in March, April, and June. Having said that, it has also secured India’s highest-selling passenger vehicle in June 2025, recording 15,786 units sold during the month. This achievement aligns with the SUV’s 10th anniversary in India, making it a double celebration for the brand.

The Creta continues to dominate the SUV space and has remained the highest-selling mid-size SUV every completed year since its debut in 2015.

The Hyundai Creta’s popularity in India can be attributed to its well-rounded package that blends style, practicality, and performance. Since its launch in 2015, it has consistently offered a premium design, feature-rich cabin, and a wide range of powertrain options to suit both urban and highway needs. Its commanding road presence, strong brand value, and Hyundai’s extensive service network have further cemented its appeal among Indian buyers. Over the years, Creta has also set benchmarks in safety, technology, and comfort, making it the go-to choice in the mid-size SUV space, so much so that the segment is often referred to as the “Creta segment” today.

Currently, the Creta is available in both ICE and electric versions, priced between Rs 11.11 – 24.38 lakh (ex-showroom). It locks horns with the Kia Seltos, Toyota Hyryder, Maruti Grand Vitara, Skoda Kushaq, Honda Elevate, MG Astor, Volkswagen Taigun, Tata Curvv and the Curvv EV.

Speaking on the milestone, Mr. Tarun Garg, Whole-Time Director and Chief Operating Officer, Hyundai Motor India Ltd., said, “CRETA is not just a product, it is an emotion for over 1.2 million Indian families. Over the last decade, brand CRETA has consistently redefined the SUV space and remained a strong pillar of Hyundai’s growth in India. Becoming the best- selling model in June 2025, exactly as it completes 10 years in the country, is a testament to the love and trust that Indian customers have placed in the brand. Infact Hyundai CRETA has been the highest-selling mid-size SUV in the country every completed year since its launch in 2015. Such has been its impact that the segment is now fondly called the ‘CRETA segment’, a true testament to the brand’s leadership. As we look ahead, we remain committed to elevating customer experiences further and driving the future of mobility through innovation, safety, and sustainability.”
