Hero Glamour Xtec Launched At Rs 78,900

Hero MotoCorp has launched the Glamour Xtec in India at a starting price of Rs 78,900 for the drum brake variant and Rs 83,500 for the disc brake variant (ex-showroom Delhi). Compared to the standard Glamour, the new Xtec model is up to Rs 4,600 more expensive. For this added premium, it gets a host of segment-first features along with a few cosmetical enhancements.

The highlight of the Hero Glamour Xtec is its extensive set of features. The most significant of these is a new digital instrument cluster that it has borrowed from the Hero XPluse 200. With this, you get a segment-first Bluetooth connectivity with call and SMS alerts, and turn-by-turn navigation along with Google map connectivity. Along with this, it also features an integrated USB charging port, LED headlamps with an H-shaped Signature position lamp, a side stand engine cut off, a real-time mileage indicator, gear position indicator, and a lean-angle sensor that detects the bending angle of the motorcycle and shuts off the engine during a fall.

Styling-wise, the new Glamour Xtrec looks largely similar to the standard model except for a few aesthetical developments like 3D branding, rim tapes, and blue accents on the new matte paint scheme.

The underpinnings of the bike have also remained unchanged. It continues to get telescopic front forks and a pair of 5-step adjustable rear springs. Braking duties are taken care of either a 240mm disc or a 130mm drum at the front and 130mm drum at the rear.

The heart of the new Glamour Xtec is the same BS6 124cc, single-cylinder air-cooled XSens Programmed fuel injection motor as the regular Glamour that comes with Hero’s trademarked i3S (idle start-stop) system for improved fuel efficiency and AutoSail technology that helps the bike crawl at low-speed traffic. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox and generates 10.8PS of maximum power and 10.6Nm of peak torque.
