Here's A Look At The Dual-Screen Setup Of Upcoming Mahindra XUV700

The upcoming Mahindra XUV700 has been creating a lot of buzz ever since it was spied testing for the first time. It is slated to launch in the third quarter of 2021 and will replace the existing XUV500 for a temporary period. Recently, a new video and an interior image of the Mahindra XUV700 have surfaced online, showing the dual-screen setup in full action mode.

The video reveals that the large touchscreen system of the SUV supports video playback in parking mode. We can also spot the driver's display with a digital readout for the speedometer & tachometer. There's a multi-information display (MID) as well as a gear position indicator. The Mercedes-Benz-inspired twin-screen setup is also expected to come with wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto smartphone integration support along with connected car technology.

The previous spy shots have also revealed that the XUV700 will sport a dual-tone black-beige theme inside the cabin with a plethora of soft-touch material on the dashboard and door trims. It will also get a complete LED lighting system, flat-bottom steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, memory function for the driver's seat, electronic parking brake with auto hold, and multiple driving modes.

The SUV could also receive radar-based driver assistance systems. For those who aren't aware, Mahindra had partnered with Mando Corporation of South Korea in 2019 to procure autonomous technologies. The brand has also showcased Mahindra Marazzo at Auto Expo 2020, equipped with ADAS technology with notable features such as autonomous emergency braking system, drowsy driver detection system, blind-spot detection, lane keep assist, cross-traffic alert and attention detection, etc.

As for mechanicals, Mahindra has already confirmed the XUV700 will be offered with both petrol and diesel engines. It is likely to utilize the same 2.0-liter turbo-petrol and 2.2-liter diesel engines as the second-generation Mahindra Thar but in a higher state of tune. For reference, Thar's petrol engine is rated at 150PS/320Nm, while the diesel engine churns out 130PS /300Nm. Transmission options for the XUV700 will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic unit. Mahindra could also offer an optional all-wheel-drive system with select variants of the XUV700.

Expect Mahindra to price the XUV700 between Rs 14.5 lakh to 21 lakh (ex-showroom). Once launched, it will battle it out with the MG Hector Plus, Tata Safari, and the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar
