As the above table indicates, the Titanium petrol-AT variant command a premium of around Rs 93,000 over its manual counterpart, whereas the newly introduced Titanium+ trim is around Rs 1.07 more expensive than the Titanium Blu petrol-manual variant on which it is based.

The Figo automatic is mated to a 6-speed torque converter transmission unit that will come with its ongoing 1.2-litre petrol engine (96PS/119Nm) instead of the earlier 123PS 1.5-litre motor, which was shelved back in January 2020. This has helped the brand to price the hatchback competitively as the 1.5-litre unit attracts more taxes. It also gets a Sports and a manual mode that can be activated by buttons given on the gear knob. Ford claims that the new petrol-automatic combination will deliver a fuel efficiency of 16km per litre.

Apart from this, Figo will continue to be available with the 1.5-litre diesel engine (100PS/215Nm), paired with a 5-speed manual as standard that offers an ARAI claimed range of 24.4kmpl.

As far as the features are concerned, the top-spec Titanium+ variant gets all the desired bells and whistles that majorly includes a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with embedded navigation, four-speaker sound system, FordPass connected car technology with remote engine start-stop and cabin precool, auto climate control, height-adjustable driver’s seat, auto headlamps, rain-sensing automatic wipers, auto-dimming inside rearview mirror, electrically adjustable & foldable ORVMs, steering-mounted audio controls, remote keyless entry with push-button start/stop and more.

Safety on the automatic trims is taken care of by up to six airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors with camera, electronic stability control, hill launch assist, traction control, etc.

In the mid-sized hatchback segment, the Ford Figo takes on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift (Rs 5.81 – 8.56 lakh) and Hyundai Grand i10 Nios (Rs 5.23 – 8.45 lakh). Both the models come with a 5-speed manual and budget-friendly AMT transmission options. That's said, the Ford Figo now has an edge over its competitors as it is the only hatchback in its class to get a proper automatic option. Also, it is the longest and the second-most powerful petrol hatchback after Nios's turbocharged model.
