Deliveries Of Simple One E-Scooter Delayed Once Again

Customers waiting to bring their Simple One electric scooter home will have to wait a bit more as its deliveries have been delayed once again, this time to make the e-scooter compliant with the new battery standards issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) recently, that makes it required for brands to ensure that they are designed to operate in Indian conditions.

This is not the first time the company has pushed the delivery timeline of its electric scooter. Originally, the deliveries were supposed to begin in July this year, but first pushed from July to September and then to October. Now, the scooters will be handed over to its customers in the first quarter of 2023.

For those who aren’t aware, the Simple One electric scooter comes fitted with a 4.8kWh battery pack that includes a fixed battery and a 7kg detachable battery that can be charged separately. The fixed battery can be charged from 0-80% in 2.75 hours, while the swappable battery takes around 75 minutes for the same.

Propelling the Simple One is a 4.8kW motor that belts out best-in-class 72Nm, allowing the e-scooter to sprint from 0 to 40kmph in simply 2.95 seconds, making it the fastest electric scooter in the country. It also gets four riding modes: Eco, Rain, Dash, and Sonic, with a top speed of 105kmph.
