COVID19 Outbreak: Hero MotoCorp Temporary Suspended Production As Precautionary Measure

Last year the automotive industry suffered its worst due to the outbreak of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The plants were shut for several months due to a nationwide lockdown. And now again the second wave of coronavirus disease has forced the Hero MotoCorp to shut its all-manufacturing facilities across the country, including its Global Parts Centre (GPC).

The brand has stated that each plant and GPC will remain shut for four days, in a staggered manner between April 22 – May 1, depending on the local situations. All corporate offices of the company are already in Work from Home (WFH) mode and limited staffs are going to offices & that too on a rotation basis for the continuity of essential services. This measure will ensure the safety of the factory workers. The brand will utilize these shut-down days to carry out necessary maintenance work in the manufacturing plants.

With this announcement, the brand has also claimed that the shutdown will not impact it’s ability to meet the demand, which has been impacted due to localized shut-downs in many states, and production loss will be compensated during the remainder of the quarter. All plants will resume normal operations post this short shutdown period.
