The CoASTT High-Performance Centre will fulfill the FIA Grade 2 safety standards, meaning that it will be competent to organize a variety of motorsport racing events, including F2. However, it won't satisfy the requirements for F1 like the Buddh International Circuit in Noida.
Conceptualized by India's first F1 driver Narain Karthikeyan and Indian National Touring Car Champion winner Arjun Balu, this will be India's first anti-clockwise racetrack that will comprise 14 turns and a lap around the circuit will be about 3.8km in length. There will also be a 1.016km CIK Grade1 karting track within the infield of the main racetrack, competent in hosting World Championship events. It is assessed that an F2 car will be able to complete its lap in 1:28 seconds with average speeds of up to 177km/h.
Spread over 111 acres, the racetrack is currently under construction and is expected to be ready by March-April 2022.
