Citroen eC3 To Be Launched By March 2023

Latest Update: Citroen India has finally announced the prices of the eC3 electric hatch.

Citroen eC3 – the electric iteration of the C3 cross-hatch has been in the works for a long time, and now it’s official that it will be launched by March 2023. Upon its arrival, it will go up against the Tata Tiago EV.

Going by the multiple spy shots and leaked images, the Citroen eC3 will look largely similar to its ICE counterpart, save for some minor EV-specific changes in the form of a clossed-off grille and a charging flap on the front right fender.

The story is the same inside the cabin as well. It has the same dashboard layout with contrasting colour elements. However, the gear lever will be replaced by the new toggle switches. While it’s not official, we expect the Citroen eC3 to get all the basic features which are currently missing in its ICE version. These include a rear wiper & washer, rear defogger, day/night IRVM, and electrically adjustable side mirrors. However, features like the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, steering-mounted audio & telephony controls, cruise control and digital instrument cluster will continue to be on offer.

No details have been revealed about its electric powertrain yet. But it is likely to get a 50kWh battery pack with a single electric motor capable of delivering 136PS of maximum power and 260Nm of peak torque. Expect it to offer at least a range of over 350km. The brand could also offer it with a smaller battery pack option.

Expect Citroen to price the eC3 from around Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).
