To jog your memory, the C5 Aircross is a premium mid-size SUV that was launched in April this year. It is based on Citroen's EMP2 platform and comes equipped with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions that are specially designed to curb the suspension’s responses to big compressions, thus, decreasing the “jolting” effect over the speed bumps. It also offers well-cushioned seats all around (combine high-density foam), with the highlight being the three rear seats that come with their own forward/backward sliding and a recline mechanism.

Other creature comforts of the SUV include an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with Apple Carplay & Android Auto smartphone connectivity, mirror screen function, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, dual-zone climate control, 6-speakers, powered driver’s seat, 6-way manually adjustable front passenger seat, a panoramic sunroof, cruise control, multiple driving modes (Eco & Sport), heated outside mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), and many more.
Passenger safety is secured by six airbags, ABS with EBD, blind-spot monitoring, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), front fog lights with cornering function, front & rear parking sensors, semi-autonomous parking assist, ISOFIX, traction control, a rear parking camera, hill start & descent assist, etc. Besides, it also gets a Grip Control System with 5 modes (Standard, Snow, All Terrain, Sand & Traction Control Off), along with a Coffee Break Alert that signals the driver to take a break after two hours of continuous driving.
Powering the C5 Aircross is a 2.0-liter diesel engine (177PS/400Nm) that comes mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It is claimed to deliver a fuel economy of 18.6kmpl.
The C5 Aircross rivals the higher variants of the Jeep Compass and the upcoming Volkswagen Tiguan SUVs.
In the other news, Citroen is gearing up to launch its second offering in the Indian market in early 2022 that will be a sub-4m SUV christened as 'Citroen C3'. It could be priced between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
