The Citroen Basalt is all set to make a debut on August 2. Its production has already commenced, and the carmaker recently showed its interior. Here are the details: –

The Basalt is expected to be powered by the same 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine as the C3 Aircross that makes 110PS of max power and 205Nm of peak torque. Transmission choices might include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
Citroen is expected to price the Basalt from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom). Upon launch, it will face competition from the upcoming Tata Curvv, which is likely to hit the Indian market around the festive season. It could also be seen as a coupe alternative to other mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and Volkswagen Taigun.
