BS6 Hero Xpulse 200 Is Finally Here

Hero MotoCorp has launched the BS6 iteration of Xpulse 200 at Rs 1,11,790 (ex-showroom Delhi). The price is up by Rs 5,790 from its BS4 FI model. It is still India's most affordable adventurer tourer bike.

BS6 Hero Xpulse 200: Is there any changes in the bike?

Hero Xpulse 200 is powered by the same 199.6cc, single-cylinder engine. However, earlier this engine was available with both fuel injection and carburettor option. But now it will only come with a fuel injection system. Apart from this, the company has additionally introduced an oil-cooling system. Also, there is a significant drop in its output due to the more confined emission norms. Now, it produces 18.08PS at 8500rpm and 16.45Nm at 6500rpm which is 0.32PS and 0.65Nm lower than its BS4 version. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox with a wet clutch.

Hero has also rerouted the exhaust system. The company has redirected the header-pipe to the muffler, moving it from the underside of the engine. Hence, now it won't run next to the engine. Due to all these changes, the kerb weight of bike increased by 3kg, compared to the 154kg figure of its BS4 version.

Author's Take

In the price bracket of Rs 1.2 lakh, there is no direct rival of Hero XPulse 200. However, it comes as a cheaper alternative to the Royal Enfield Himalayan. Though, it cannot provide you with highway cruising capabilities like Himalayan. But in a tighter budget, it can definitely give you the same feel and that too with adventure touring capabilities. Also, the rally kit has made the icing on the cake for the enthusiast riders.
