The R nineT and R nineT Scrambler are powered by a 1,170cc, air-cooled, 2-cylinder boxer engine that has been updated to meet the Euro 5/BS6 emission norms. This engine produces 110PS at 7,520 rpm and 119Nm at 6,000 rpm. As per the brand, the engine has been retuned to offer a strong midrange between 4,000rpm and 6,000rpm. Further, it also gets a new turbulence system and a new cylinder head cover. The motorcycles come mated to a 6-speed transmission and can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds before hitting a top speed of 200 km/h.

In terms of design, the styling of both bikes remains the same. However, the R nineT roadster gets a new twin-pod instrument cluster, whereas the Scrambler gets a single pod circular instrument cluster with a digital display. Some of the key features of both bikes include LED headlights with daytime riding light, a twin-can exhaust, two standard riding modes (rain & road), Automatic Stability Control (ASC), 320mm twin-disc brakes at the front, and 265mm single disc at the rear with BMW Motorrad ABS Pro, travel-dependent damping (WAD) as standard.
