BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 Launched At Rs 4.60 Lakh

Benelli India has launched the BS6 iteration of the Leoncino 500 motorcycle at a starting price of Rs 4.60 lakh (ex-showroom), making it Rs 20,000 more affordable than its BS4 version. It is the third BS6 compliant Benelli in the Indian market, followed by the Imperiale 400 and TRK 502. Bookings of the updated Leoncino 500 are underway at a token amount of Rs 10,000.

BS6 Benelli Leoncino 500 – Colours & Price

2021 Benelli Leoncino 500 is available in two shades- silver and red. The silver color variant is priced at Rs 4,59,900, whereas for the red color variant you will need to spend Rs 10,000 more than the silver-colored model.

Design & Underpinnings

The 2021 Benelli Leoncino 500 scrambler features similar neo-retro design as the previous model with 'Lion of Pesaro' signature ornament on the front fender, an LED lighting system, and a twin-pod asymmetrical cluster. The underpinnings are also the same as before. The motorcycle rolls on 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in 120/70 front and 160/60 rear road-biased Pirelli Angel ST tires. The suspension duties will continue to be handled by a 50mm USD fork at the front and a pre-load adjustable monoshock at the rear. Braking, on the other hand, is taken care of by the 320mm discs at the front and a 260mm disc at the rear with dual-channel switchable Antilock Braking System (ABS) as standard.

Engine & Gearbox

The heart of the 2021 Benelli Leoncino 500 is a BS6-compliant 500cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin DOHC engine that makes 47.5PS at 8500rpm and 46Nm at 6000rpm. There is no change in the power figures. The engine comes paired with a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch as standard.

Rivals

As of now, the Benelli Leoncino 500 has no direct rivals in its segment. In fact, it is the most affordable performance scrambler motorcycle available in the Indian market.
