The highly anticipated Ather Rizta has finally been launched, with prices starting at Rs 1.10 lakh (ex-showroom). It is actually a more practical and budget-friendly option than Ather’s sporty 450 range. 

The Rizta is available in two variants with two battery pack choices.

  • Design: The Rizta boasts a boxy and rounded design, a departure from the angular and sharp lines of the 450 line-up. Its LED headlight, reminiscent of the TVS iQube, features an almost rectangular shape with integrated indicators.
  • It boasts the longest seat in its segment.  
  • Derived from the 450X’s aluminium frame, the Rizta’s rear has been extensively reworked to increase the width and reduce height, enhancing usability and road-friendliness.
  • Weighing in at 119kg, the Rizta is just 8kg heavier than the 450X.

  • Range: The 2.9kWh battery pack Rizta boasts a claimed IDC range of 123km and a TrueRange of 105km, while the 3.7kWh unit offers figures of 160km of claimed range and 125km of true range.
  • Both battery packs are IP67 certified, and the Rizta can wade through water up to 400mm.
  • Top Speed: Both variants have a claimed top speed of 80kph.

  • Storage: The Rizta offers a massive underseat storage space of 34 litres, while the accessory soft ‘frunk’ adds another 22 litres, totaling 56 litres of storage capacity. Ather also offers an accessory called the Organiser, doubling as a carry bag for items stored in the underseat storage.

  • Key Features: Depending on the variant, the Rizta offers a 7-inch coloured TFT dash boating Ather’s new Stack 6 OS, reverse mode, two riding modes (Smart Eco, Zip), Magic Twist (reverse throttle for regen), hill hold, FallSafe, Emergency Stop Signal and Skid Control. The latter actually matches the front wheel rpm to motor rpm with the help of sensors so that skid can be prevented.

Halo Smart Helmet

  • Ather has launched the Halo electric scooter with built-in Harman Kardon speakers and mic. The brand claims that its battery pack can last roughly one week. It can be wirelessly charged. 
  • It is priced at Rs 12,999 for first 1,000 orders. It will also be available in half face version, called Halo Bit, priced at Rs 4,999. 
  • Both the Halo and Halo Bit have been certified to both the ISI as well DOT standards.
