Ather 450S Gets Affordable By Rs 25,000

Ather Energy has announced a price cut for its entry-level electric scooter, the 450S. Earlier, it was priced at Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom Bengaluru, including FAME II subsidy). The company has now reduced its price by Rs 25,000, making it cost Rs 1.10 lakh. Ather has also slashed the price for the Pro Pack from Rs 22,210 to Rs 9,999, and Ather Battery Protect cost from Rs 5,499 to Rs 1.

For those unaware, the Pro Pack unlocks a host of connectivity and riding assist features like riding modes, on-board navigation, OTA updates support, hill hold assist, theft & tow alert, find-my-scooter, and more. On the other hand, the Ather Battery Protect extends the battery warranty to 5 years/60,000 kilometres and guarantees 70% battery health at the end of 5 years.

Rapid Insight Into The Ather 450S

  • Equipped with a 2.9 kWh capacity battery that boasts a range of 115 km on a full charge under Indian Driving Conditions (IDC).
  • PMS motor rated at 5.4kW and 22Nm | 0-40 kmph in just 3.9 seconds | top speed of 90 kmph.
  • Compatible with Ather Grid’s fast chargers, offering charging speeds of up to 1.5 km per minute.
  • Key features include an LED headlamp, a non-touchscreen 7-inch LCD display with turn-by-turn navigation support, reverse assist, emergency stop signal, three riding modes (Smart Eco, Ride, and Sport), auto turn indicator off, side stand indicator, FallSafe, park assist, and auto-hold functions. It also gets a coasting regen function, which initiates regenerative braking at cruising speeds to juice up the battery pack. 
  • The Ather 450S’ competitors are the TVS iQube S, Ola S1 Air, Bajaj Chetak and Vida V1 Pro.
