2021 Skoda Octavia – Exterior Design & Dimensions

Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MQB EVO platform, the 2021 Octavia gets a new body making it 19mm lengthier (4689mm) and 15mm wider (1829) than its predecessor. The effects of which are also seen as 78mm of more knee room for rear passengers. The sedan also offers a massive boot space of 600-liters, which can be expanded to 1,555-litres by folding the second-row seats.

While the silhouette of the sedan looks considerably unchanged, it gets new turbine-like designed 17-inch alloy wheels and redefined character lines that give it a more superior look. The rear, on the other hand, provides a more Superb-like appearance with its sharper boot lid design, SKODA lettering at the centre, and new split-LED taillamps with a nice touch of crystalline effect.

2021 Skoda Octavia – Interior & Features

Like the exterior, Octavia's interior is revised to look as luxurious as ever. It gets a dual-tone beige-black themed cabin with a gentle touch of Suedia leather upholstery and glossy black around the door handles and upper half of the dash. The most striking upgrades of the new-gen Octavia are a larger 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system in the centre, a new 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster, and Skoda’s latest two-spoke multi-function steering wheel with paddle shifters.

Besides, the sedan is also fitted with several high-end equipment and techs such as Canton-sourced 11 speaker music system, Porsche like drive-select toggle, connected car tech, two-zone climate control with an air purifier & rear AC vents, 12-way powered front seats with memory function, hands-free parking assist, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay smartphone integration support for the infotainment system, wireless charger, auto headlamps & wipers, cruise control, hands-free parking assist, a powered boot lid with kick-to-open function, tyre pressure monitor, cooled glove-box, multi-colour ambient lighting, and more.

For passenger's safety, Skoda has offered up to 8-airbags, ABS with EBD, an electric parking brake with auto-hold, front & rear parking sensors, rear parking camera, ISOFIX child seat anchorage, electronic stability control, hill hold control, anti-slip regulation, and iBuzz Fatigue Alert that reminds the driver to take some rest after driving for a long time.

New 2021 Skoda Octavia – Engine

The new Octavia is powered by a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine (190PS/320Nm), mated to a 7-speed DSG with a new shift-by-wire system technology which will make the shifting easier & more precise. The engine is claimed to deliver a fuel efficiency of 15.81kmpl.

While Skoda hasn't offered the 2021 Octavia with a diesel engine, it might get a smaller 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol mill at a later stage. The brand is also expected to launch it's sportier RS variant by the next year.

2021 Skoda Octavia – Color Options

Skoda has offered the new Octavia in five colour options: Brilliant Silver, Maple Brown, Candy White, Lava Blue, and Magic Black. However, the base-spec Style will only get the last three shades.

2021 Skoda Octavia – Competitors

In the Indian market, the Octavia will face competition only from the Hyundai Elantra, which is quite more affordable (Rs 17.85-21.12 lakh) than the Czech offering. However, as per the pricing, it can also be seen as an alternative to the Hyundai Tucson (Rs 22.57-27.35 lakh), Jeep Compass (Rs 17.19-28.49 lakh) and Citroen C5 Aircross (Rs 29.90-31.90 lakh).
